The automotive industry is volatile. Emerging technologies, changing government regulations, tariffs, and fickle consumer trends make planning for the next model year a Herculean effort of hope and stress. It\u2019s why so many automakers play it safe with their products, but there are outliers, like Bugatti<\/a>. Demand for the brand\u2019s newest hypercars is so high that any potential buyers will have to wait years for their car, if they can order one at all. And that\u2019s good for the bespoke automaker.<\/p>\n Bugatti\u2019s design director, Frank Heyl, told\u00a0CarBuzz<\/em><\/a> that the brand has so many orders that it makes it easy for Bugatti to \u201cplan ahead.\u201d \u201cIt\u2019s all set,\u201d he said. Heyl told the publication that finishing up Bolide production and beginning to build the Tourbillon would keep it busy for the next four years and that it\u2019s sold out until 2029.<\/p>\n \u201cIf you have this [financial stability] as a business owner, it works out very solid,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n That gives Bugatti plenty of time to figure out what comes after the Tourbillon<\/a>, a hybrid hypercar with three electric motors and an 8.4-liter V-16 engine. It makes 1,800 horsepower<\/a>, which can propel the car to 60 miles per hour in just 2.0 seconds. It also costs around $4 million to start, but good luck getting one.\u00a0<\/p>\n If you have the cash for that kind of performance, and haven\u2019t already placed your Tourbillon order, you\u2019ll have to set a reminder for 2029 to see what Bugatti cooks up next.
